One of the great things about our Holiday Park is its unique location which offers a total holiday experience. Ohope Beach is a destination, not just a great camping ground by the sea. If you feel like going out and about for the day, the possibilities are endless. Some examples of tours and activities that can be booked at the park office:

Waioeka Family Kayak Trips -
Take a 1 or 2 hour kayak trip down the beautiful Waioeka River, which runs through New Zealand’s largest natural reserve, the Waioeka Scenic Reserve. This river is one of the country’s purest with native bush growing to the river boundary and an abundance of bird and fish life. Experience the peace and tranquillity at less than half an hours drive from Ohope Beach.


Tui Glen Farm Horse Treks -
Explore New Zealand’s native bush on the back of a mount with Tui Glen Farm Horse Treks. They offer friendly and relaxed 1, 1 1/2 and 2 hour guided tours and there are horses available to suit all abilities. Choose from beach rides and gentle treks for the whole family or some more adventurous treks for confident riders. Ride into the hills and through crystal clear trout stream over 400 hectares of farmland.

Kiwi Jet Boat Tours -
Bill Roberts, four times New Zealand Jet Boating Champion and former World Champion and his team will take you on an unforgettable Jet Boat trip down the stunning Rangitaiki River. The ever changing scenery combined with the sometimes thrilling moments on the way will linger in your mind for ever. A combined Helicopter Tour with Volcanic Air Safaris is also possible.

Whale and Dolphin Watch -
Come and step aboard the vessel ‘Taniwha’ to explore the natural wonders in the clear blue subtropical waters in the Bay of Plenty. Take the unique opportunity to swim with some of the largest concentrated schools of common dolphins in the world. Experienced guides will assist you in the water and if you prefer, just watching is an option too. Bookings are essential!

PeeJay White Island Tours -
Professional marine operators will take you on a 6 hour journey to New Zealand’s only active marine volcano White Island. This steaming beauty lies 49km off the coast of Whakatane. Step aboard PeeJay, one of two boats purpose built for White Island Tours, and let the cheerful and professional crew take you on a journey you will never forget.

Vulcan Helicopters -
Vulcan Helicopters’ White Island Volcano Adventure takes you to the edge of the crater of a continuously active, living and breathing geological giant. Since 1988 Vulcan Helicopters has carried thousands of visitors to White Island. Special safety equipment and procedures are employed to ensure your safety in flight and on the island. This is a once in a lifetime experience.

Dive White Island -
White Island volcano is clearly visible from Ohope Beach Top 10 Holiday Park and if you would like to have a closer look, you can take this unique trip. Dive White runs regular scheduled dive trips to the island all year around. All trips have a PADI certified Divemaster or Instructor accompanying the divers and lunch and refreshments are provided.

Adventure SolutioNZ -
Te Pahitaua Adventure is Whakatane’s and New Zealand’s latest Outdoor Adventure Centre. They provide the possibility to participate in a supervised outdoor adventure course in a fun, exciting and safe environment. High and low rope activities, climbing and abseiling a giant swing and an urban assault course are just a few examples of what’s on offer at Adventure SolutioNZ.
