- Beachaven Motel & Holiday Park is located two minutes walk from Waihi beach As well as all the activities available at the beach or on the water, we are within 500m of restaurants, cafes and bars. A 1km flat walk to Waihi Beach Village shopping. Base yourself here to explore the Bay of Plenty and Coromandel Peninsula.
10-minute drive to the historic gold mining town of Waihi, where you can catch a ride on the Goldfield's Steam Train. Drive for a further 10 minutes to Karangahake Gorge, which is one of the AA's '101 MUST-DO'S FOR KIWIS'. The mural town of Katikati is within 25 minutes, as is Paeroa with its iconic 'Lemon & Paeroa' bottle.
A 35-minute drive gets you to Whangamata from which you can easily drive to Hot Water Beach, Hahei, Cathedral Cove, Whitianga, Coromandel Town or Thames. A 50-minute drive will have you in Tauranga or Mount Maunganui. Then back in the afternoon for a swim or walk on the beach.
