Tourist Attractions
Waihi Beach, just 11km away from Waihi Township, is an absolutely stunning ocean beach, offering nearly nine kilometres of sweeping white sand.

It is one of the safest beaches in New Zealand and it is increasingly popular with surfers.

Waihi Beach town itself is small and quite charming, with some unique pottery, art and craft shops.


While on holiday at Bowentown Beach Holiday Park you can relax on the beach and enjoy the sunshine or if you prefer, take part in more adventurous activities such as surfing, boogie boarding, kayaking or kite boarding.

At the north end of the beach a track crosses the headland to Orakawa Bay, a scenic spot with many Pohutukawa trees.

Bowentown is situated at the southern end of the beach and to the south-west you’ll find the Karangahake Gorge and the lovely Owharoa Falls.

A walkway through the gorge is a popular way to explore this beautiful area
From the North :
Follow State Highway 2 through Ngatea and Paeroa until you reach Waihi Township. Waihi Beach is located 11 km East of Waihi.

Go through Waihi Township and drive for approximately five minutes before turning left into Waihi Beach Road. Follow this road as it leads into Wilson Road which becomes Seaforth Road.

You will find Bowentown Beach Holiday Park at the end on your left hand side.

From the South:
Follow State Highway 2 through Katikati and drive for approximately 15 minutes. Turn right into Athenree Road. Then veer left into Steele Road. This leads into Emerton Road. Follow this road to the end.

At the roundabout, turn right into Seaforth Road. Follow this road as it leads you to Bowentown Domain and Bowentown Beach Holiday Park.
